INFO: 2024, digital painting
This took much longer than the previous realism piece – around 310hrs in total over three years due to the detail required on the three figures and mid ground elements aswell as the patterned textiles on the couch and mattress. I was happy enough with how the overall balance of the piece worked out (I tried to make the viewers eye be directed from foreground to background in a zig-zag pattern). Some of the happy accidents along the way were satisfying to render too (things not in the original thumbnail concept). Critique: The crouched figure of the man still looks abit off; the gesture and some of the clothing folds. The bark and shadowing on the tree root is alittle flat and un-life like. The teal blue tint needs some adjusting.
