Round up of some of the better weekly digital char Round up of some of the better weekly digital character practicals I added to my practice routine in late 2021. These are quick 15-30 minute exercises based on six word text briefs. The idea is to try and render gestures and expressions in color as quickly as possible. The completed music video for Cinder Biter (link i The completed music video for Cinder Biter (link in bio). This was quite a different shoot compared to my previous projects as (steadycam) run-and-gun is not something I’ve had much practice with and was well outside my comfort range. As such I spent a good bit of time testing in pre-production to make sure I would loose as little footage as possible on the scheduled shoot days (due to bad framing, technical camera/rig issues etc.) as there was usually only one chance to capture each scene). Thankfully I only had to re-do one shot and I had enough extra scenes storyboarded to fill out the few that didn’t work within the final edit. I was’nt entirely sure if the shooting script concept itself would work (with the erratic nature of the subject!) and although its abit rough in places, I think we captured some authentic/spontaneous moments that worked well with the vibe of the track. Big thanks to the Callanan and Harper families for their help and patience.
