INFO: 2021, digital painting
My second attempt at a painting based on the Brother’s Grimm story The Three Gifts. As mentioned before I didn’t like the undefined style I used the first time round. I tried to make this version more 2D and geometric. I had to play around with the Adjustments Layers (in Photoshop – brightness and saturation) quite abit to get a workable composition as the busy thorn spirals conflicted with the character of the old man. Critique: The thorns and wilted plants could have been reduced more. The clouds were too blocky/geometric. The old man’s left arm cloth folds needed tweaking.
